Corian® is a nonpropous material. It is solid through its entire thickness and can be fabricated with inconspicuous seams, rendering its surface very hygienic. Corian® surfaces do not support the growth of bacteria or fungi. Corian® has been certified by an independent laboratory as a hygienic material according to the international norm DIN EN ISO 846.
